This usually happens when a new camera model is released, containing a new coding of its RAW format and which is not included in Autopano. The solution for that is to decode this new RAW format in. tiff 16 bits format, which is the equivalent of what Autopano does during the decoding. We update our decoding database following this evolution, but it takes some time, so there is a delay between the release of a camera and the update of a new version of Autopano that support this new encoding format.Ĭan I use an already stitched panorama in Autopano to edit?Īutopano does not support ready-rendered and projected panoramas in input. pano, are there any other export formats available? #Autopano giga rectilinear pano update pano, you are saving the project, so that you can open it again in Autopano if further editing is required. What graphical formats are supported in output of Autopano Pro and Autopano Giga?Īutopano Giga can export your stitched images in the following formats: If you want to save your panorama, to be able to open it in Photoshop for example, as a JPG or TIFF, you have to render it. Why is the Vertical lines tool greyed out? #Autopano giga rectilinear pano pro The Vertical Lines tool can only be used if your panorama is using the Spherical or Planar projection. Horizontal lines in this tool are only available when using the planar projection. When Autopano is launched, it assigns itself a percentage of your available memory. If any of you own any Kolor tools, go to the web site now and download the last updates if you don't already have them. This feature increases the preformance and efficiency of the software, but all the assigned memory is not necessarily used. Presumably the Kolor web site will be shut down soon and that will be it for a 14 year run of great tools. No new sales of the tools, or upgrades which require new license keys, are possible any longer. People using Kolor's 360 and virtual tour tools have a much more difficult transition ahead of them.įor now, the latest versions of the Kolor tools are still available on the Kolor web site for existing owners to download the latest updates which can still be activated with existing license keys. At least there are good stitching alternatives out there. I'll keep using AP as long as I can but at some point I'll have to switch to something that's still supported. Apparently not.Īutopano Pro and Autopano Giga were my go-to stitching tools for many years, and it's very disappointing that they have ceased. I was nervous when the GoPro acquisition happened but after 3 years thought perhaps this combination could work over a longer term. Whatever the reason, it's another in a long line of small but distinguished tool makers being acquired by a much bigger company, only to have their technology killed off. There's some thought that GoPro's financial woes, which ironically came to light around the time of the Kolor acquisition, spelled the end of the software subsidiary - trimming the balance sheet of non-core operations and their costs. Kolor founder Alexandre Jenny said he undertook discussions with GoPro management to see if Kolor could be spun back out of GoPro, but ultimately those discussions could not come to fruition for whatever reasons. Unfortunately, it appears none of them will survive. All of the Kolor-developed tools were highly capable and highly regarded. I was disappointed to learn recently that software developer Kolor, which had been acquired by GoPro in 2015, shut down abruptly last month (September).
